We are delighted to announce that a Special Unit for hearing impaired
children is to be located in Portlaw N.S. The Board of management has applied
for planning permission for temporary accommodation to facilitate the unit. An
advertisement has been placed in the national press for a teacher for the unit
and a full time SNA will also be required for the unit.
Portlaw is strategically positioned to accommodate children from east and west
Waterford as well as from South Kilkenny and South Tipperary.
Our first pupil will be Triston Pethe.
The unit arrived on July 7th and is now in position.

We were delighted to open on September 1st. with Ms. Annabel Moroney appointed as teacher and Ms. Pauline Murphy as classroom assistant.
For school year 2006/7 Ms Susan Rellis has been appointed teacher in the unit
